Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

default could it be my milk?

Post by rhi'smummy on Mon Jan 25, 2010 11:45 am

Rhianna has had a poorly tummy for a few days now, she's hardley eaten anything, but has been having lots more mummy milk. I'm just checking, now I'm almost 8 months pregnant, my milk wouldn't have changed again to be making her poorly? I know it changes quite early on in pregnancy though, so dont think it could be that, but just want some reasurance.

When you say poorly tummy do you mean shes looser?

When the milk has changed to colostrum this can cause loose poo but it wouldn't make her poorly as such.

Its quite likely that shes picked up a tummy virus hun

she was very sick on friday, then had diarrhea sat and sunday and then when i wrote this, she'd been sick once more, but since then she's been being sick all day, so I'm sure it is a tummy bug. Plus today she's been feeling really ill, she's been sat cuddled with me on the sofa, not even with the energy to watch tv.
Poor little thing, she's just got over chicken pox and gets this.

The norovirus is around at this time of year and it makes children very poorly not just upset tum/bum but aches, pains, lethargy etc.

It is very bad at the school where I work at the moment so we have enforced the 3 day rule where children have to be clear at least 3 days after the last symptoms.

Hope she feels better soon xx hug2
