Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Was wondering if any one had used the medela swing breast pump?? Was it any good?? I am thinking about getting one as i am having trouble with my other pump, i am not getting enough when using it although i can get more using the nipple puller. I am trying to increse my milk supply as my son is not getting enough. I have been put on motilium as well

I found the Medala the best by far, and that was pumping to donate milk.

Is your baby having trouble gaining weight? was just wondering what the symtoms were of him not getting enough, so we can help you a little further :aww:
your little one will be going through his 1st major growth spurt at 6 weeks, so will be wanting to be on constantly and never seeming to be satisfied!

Have you tried including oats in your diet? porridge, flapjack, oat milk, its all great for naturally boosting your milk. and remember to drink plenty of water too.

I agree with Kay, sounds like a growth spurt.

I would also reccomend massaging your breast during a feed as this encourages a quicker 'let down' of milk to satisfy him quicker.

Keep putting him to the breast and avoid top ups if possible as he is just trying to get you to match his needs.

Hope you are well :aww:
