Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

default Is my baby getting enough?

Post by Natasha on Fri Jul 20, 2007 8:16 pm

A common question asked by all new breastfeeding mums Smile

In the first few weeks you will feel like your baby is constantly attached to your nipple :boob:

As long as your baby is gaining weight, has wet nappies and poo's, everything is just fine your baby will be getting exactly what it needs.

Please also print off the breastfeeding chart that can be found in the Breastfeeding News section of the forum, http://breastbuddies.nice-forum.com/Breastfeeding-News-c7/Breastfeeding-Related-News-f13/Breastfeeding-Chart-t5.htm
as the formula charts will make it seem as though your baby is'nt gaining enough when he/she is Very Happy

Please before you panick or get worried ask someone here or contact a breastfeeding support group in your area.

Any questons you have please ask!

For me, her routine started to settle when she was weaned onto solids.

From about 7 weeks she fed alot less than before, as my milk was established.

But when you think all is going well, they will have a growth spurt Razz , not until now at 7 months does it seem to be easier coping with them, but rest assured it will happen Smile

When you get to around 4 months, it will be easier and i shouldnt be to bad with having other children.

I can understand that it is hard work with young children when breastfeeding a little one :aww:

Snicks has other children to, im sure she could give you advise on how to cope Very Happy
