Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Tell us about yourself : People who have kids by more than 3 different men are SLAGS. They don't give a shit about the welfare of their children, otherwise they would be keeping their bloody legs shut and creating a STABLE environment for their kids, either in a stable relationship or as a single mother - because single mothers are perfectly capable of being fantastic parents. If you want to sleep around use some fucking contraception until you are sure your partner is in it for the long haul, it is not fucking difficult. Kids need stability - they don't need a succession of men coming in and out of their life.

going bit better now...

claire - not had chance to try sling yet as mum came round yesterday & i was lucky i knew he was my child!!! i swear if i heard her say "u cant carry on feeding him this much yourself" i was going to batter her. she thinks its too demanding on me at the mo as hes feeding more (as everyone has said he would at this stage)... that & she is determined to give him a bloody bottle so she can feed him when shes around rather than use them for "emergencies" when i cant cope!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr BUT the gripe water you suggested seems to be working Surprised)

Saw dr today for our 6week check.... i swear if it costs more than 5 they wont prescribe it! thtey wouldnt prescribe colief OR lanisoh Surprised( my 2nd cousin got colief prescribed by his dr.... is t coz theyre on benefits & im not? sometimes feels liks it!!!

Moan away hun.

My mum was the same, almost begging at times to feed her...lol.
Can he have any calpol or is he too young yet?

I was in spain for our 6 week growth spurt with 4 people telling me i was feeding too much and that she should be on bottles. Its hard, i was that determined i expressed (by hand) Every night so one of them could give one bottle a day. Just to shut them up for a bit....lol.

Your at a very demanding stage. You can do it, its so worth it when you get past this it gets much easier.

Glad to hear the gripe waters doing the trick.

See you Wednesday.

clare - totally forgot to ask about the calpol as luke cried & cried & screamed & cried through his check up so i was just glad to get out of there so i could feed him! lol Although my mum says he isnt getting teeth through Wink

I shouldnt laugh but it was dead funny to hear her asking l uke if "mummy was getting his milk ready" when she had hold of him & i was in the kitchen... i was giggling away with my OH as she thought i was getting a bottle for her when i was just checking on my tea hehehehehe
Just found out now that Oh's mum is feeling "left out"... its nearly as hard keeping the parents happy as it is our child!!

Managed to keep luke content or at least not crack up with all the feeds today & he is currently asleep on his dad... coz he wont put him to bed coz he "didnt see him much yesterday"... THEN DONT GO TO THE PUB SO MUCH?!?! men!

Parents hey.....lol

I'm pretty sure i saw teeth coming. I could be wrong it wouldn't be a first time........lol. I know its only young but its possible.

Were like that here, both lots of parents want a turn like she's a thing...lol I do feel bad at times as my mum has Kaydi every now and then. Steve's Step mum only see's her when she comes here. Its really hard to leave her, its not that i don't trust her its just. I don't know if she would know what to do with a baby. She has never had any kids. I'd be worried that Kaydi would just scream.

As for men don't get me going.

i didnt get an email telling me there were new posts here.... ah well.
Parents still telling me what to do although after a trip to the trafford centre my mum now lets me feed when i say ha ha ha
Luke still been bit grumpy last few days, GP called us back in as she "couldnt stop thinking of him" after he SCREAMED his way through his 6 week check & wouldnt settle at all. So we went back yesterday but she still felt something wasnt right so she referred us to a&e.... oh joy where i work... just where you wanna be for the 2nd time since your kids been born! They have restarted us on gaviscon & asked me to stay off milk & cheese until i get a follow up appointment. WHAT!?! I LOVE cheese & how can i have my porridge without milk Surprised( Ah well. will be a good girl & do as they say until the appointment. Im making up the gaviscon with aptimel rather than water as im not expressing enough at the mo to do it that way & hes been fine with it so far... only been about 20hrs though hehehehe

Oh & i know there is a growth chart especially for bf babies rather than the bottle one in our red book.... is this it? http://www.who.int/childgrowth/standards/cht_wfa_boys_p_0_6.pdf
i want to see how hes doing via a "normal" chart for him as hes starting to look like hes not putting on wieght now coz i think i have the bottle chart in my book.

Yes thats it hun.

If they are asking you to stop drinking milk and eating cheese, I think, they think hes lactose intollerent.

Oh and I forgot to say, if they think he lactose intollerent, I really dont think ti would be a good idea to be giving him formula (made with milk) as they are asking you to cut out main dairy products.
