Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

default Should i wake her?

Post by sunnysarah on Sat Aug 30, 2008 9:10 pm

Penny will be 12wks on tuesday & doing really well. Nice & alert in the day in fact she hardly sleeps at all in the day has about a half hour nap in the morning then a few 10-15 minute cat naps in the afternoon. She cluster feeds in the evening & is ready for bed around 8pm. She then sleeps through till between 5 & 6am. She does stir around 4am but doesn`t actually wake up & soon goes back off to sleep. Should i be waking her for a feed? getting her weighed on wednesday which i`m dreading cos at her last weigh in 4wks ago she`d only put on a oz & a half. I `ve always thought if they`re hungry they will wake but don`t want to be doing things wrong. :please?: :help:

I would leave her hunny - like you say, she'll wake if she's hungry. :aww:
