Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

default Itchy Boobs

Post by salocius on Mon Aug 18, 2008 8:05 pm

I need some advice, When lo is :boob: my boobs get very itchy.

We had thrush couple of weeks ago but has cleared up but I don't know whats causing them to be itchy.

Also I'm finding :boob: tiring, do i need to take vitamins etc, i've only really noticed the tiredness since i've started the mini pill so not sure if thats connected or not

Many thanks

Karen

ITs probably caused by increased blood flow- blood carries hormones and oxygen. I've been expreiencing this too :aww:
Sometimes it could be because of heat or syntethics in bra causing increased sweating.Only advice I can give it too keep boobs cool while breastfeeding.

As for vitamins: its your choice. If you have good, well balanced diet and remember to eat your veggies and fruit, eat red meat for iron there is no need. Mums here like blacksptap molasses http://breastbuddies.nice-forum.com/natural-remedies-f38/blackstrap-molasses-a-tonic-for-many-things-t755.htm?highlight=blacksprap+molasses full of goodness and all naturall. If you think you would benefit from vitamin suplements- you could give it a go, won't hurt :aww:
As for mini pill: no idea, sorry. I would suggest keeping eye on it. It could be low iron or just low in your energy, we all have this sometimes. :aww:
