Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

default Should I be giving lo water too

Post by salocius on Fri Jul 25, 2008 3:07 pm

I'm well confused....... My mum keeps telling me that i need to give Lo water too

I am on the understanding that as she is only bf that she don't need extra water I just need to feed her more.

I told her this and she said that I was talking rubbish

I've stuck to my guns at the moment but I just want to check with you guys as you all know what you're on about.

Theres post already on this, it crops up often, normally from well minded in laws etc..... in short NO babies get everything from :boob: & water can be dangerous for small babies.

why do Hv and mums think they know best????

Just cos my mum had 5 kids doesn't mean she knows it all.

I'm so glad I found this forum otherwise i don't think i'd be bf now.
