Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Wahoo!

The lady that comes to me re donating milk said a similar thing - soon mums will have to take their own formula in if that is how they intend to feed their babies.
She said the NHS are going to put th emoney saved from this into providing breastfeeding support cheers

What a great idea, More money needs to be spent supporting bf mums and those prepared to try.
If mums want to give there babies formula from birth then they should provide it, after all ladies we provide our own breast milk. lol!

My local hospital stopped in 2006. Just when my son was born. We were informed at the ante-natal classes and when I was in the maternity ward they were just using up the last of the formula.

18 months too late for me. Maybe if they hadn't had it there when Rhianna was born, they might have made more of an effort helping me get her latched on. Instead the midwife just plonked a bottle of furmula in front of me and said you need to give her this! I didn't though, said you need to get the lactation consultant here!
