Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

topic2 HELP!!!

Post by ambee820 on Fri May 16, 2008 3:06 am

I have been exclusively pumping for 4.5 months now. Well, my son keeps kicking my pump off of my breast and it's very irritating. I know that doesn't make sense but I pump whenever he eats to keep my milk supply going because I donate a lot of mil k also so I want enough for both my son and the milk bank. So I put him on a body pillow in front of me while I feed him and I pump. Well, it's getting harder and harder to do this because he keeps kicking it off. He won't take naps unless he's laying on me and it's getting very irritating.

I don't know what to do!! I have a bedtime routine that we go through everynight and he's asleep no later than 11:30 and sleeps through. I pump about 1-2 am and then again when he wakes up. He sleeps without me then but not during the day. I need to pump without him being up my butt and I'm ready to just give up because I'm starting to resent it. Please someone help!

Have you tried him in the rugby hold, so he is laying down your side with his feet away from your other breast?
This is the only way i can successfully pump whilst he is feeding!

Yes try the rugby/football hold, he wont be able to kick the pump then.
