Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Hi Sarah

I seem to spend most days like that if we don't go out. If we go out Daisy normally falls asleep in her pram / car seat for a while. She doesn't settle very well when we are in the house, then wakes up for a feed. I've managed to put her down now but she's stirring. This bugged me a bit but I'm getting used to it now. I've had one of those 'can't be bothered' days today. I normally feed her then put her down and try and get some jobs done quickly before she wakes again, but today I only got dressed about half an hour ago! Oh well!

I remember my 1st 8 weeks BF Andrew were so tiring I could not believe how much he wanted his bitty. My house was a dump and we lived off the meals I had made and froze.

I came up with the idea to "sling Andrew" I used to do all the housework and chores whilst "wearing Andrew".

Routine was mission impossible and I learnt the meaning of feed on demand....and man could Andrew be demanding.

He did seem to settle at around 8 weeks.

The first couple of months were like this with Bethany too the house was a mess - so i used to leave the tidying up to adam to do! Laughing

I think the worse thing though was the fact that i didnt no anyone that breastfed and so EVERYONE would be saying they didnt think that was normal feeding so long and so often which really made me worried!

My husbands Grandma even said on more than one occasion that my milk probably wasnt enough for her (the baby not his Grandma! lol).

Being able to come on this forum and get answers from people who actually breastfed was a life saver and was so much more helpful than hearing what was basically crap from people who didnt have a clue what they were talking about! Rant over! :rolllaugh:
