Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

Good to come here for support! Smile

I gave up feeding my first ds at 12 months because of all the ignorant comments I got. It's all trial and error.

:tear: Oh Kay I hope you don't see what I put as having ago at you or anyone!

It was only at those who don't want to try and the terrible lack of support that there is.

You did give it your all and you didn't know any better or have any support, you have 3 wonderfull children and they are very lucky to have you.

Corey,Jamie and Tyler look very well looked after Kay, that is something to be proud of :aww:

:aww: Its fine Tash!

I just realise what I missed out on now, and I fully appreciate this is a :boob: site - hence why i joined!!!
I didnt FF through choice - i desperately wanted to succeed at BF, but like you said - the fault lies with the lack of support from healthcare providers, which is why i took it upon myself to educate myself this time.

:aww:

I really hope one day hvs will be all different and will be a great help, as well as nurses and midwifes.

From the time you give birth and to when you go home that support must be there, it should be given in a friendly and supportive manner and not in a forsefull " you must do this " attitude.

Why the goverment don't employ more breastfeeding supporters or mother helpers I don't know, I just see all this trying to look like they are helping, they waste the money on so much crap, yet don't put the funds towards something that could potentialy for years to come save the NHS thousands in health care Rolling Eyes

Or am I asking too much? scratch

Not at all!

The ammount they must spend on providing hospitals with formula, and then providing low income families with free formula - this money could be spent on educating and supporting women to breatfeed.
