Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

default Silly little comments......

Post by kay on Tue Apr 01, 2008 7:41 am

We were at my mums on Sunday, and Corey was a bit grizzly (the 1st grumpy day in 6 weeks - not bad!). My mum turned around and said "is your milk enough for him?" Evil or Very Mad

I know its only little, but it really P'd me off! there was no "is he tired" or "does his bum need doing" - people are just quick to assume its the breastfeeding. What suprises me most is my mum has been the most supportive of all, and bf all 4 of us!

Sorry - needed to vent! Embarassed

I know it is the first this people assume when u BF!!

But he is doing great.

It is difficult but try not to let it stress you out and do what you did point out that he is very content and there are other reasons why babies are grumpy. :boob: :aww: :boob:

Its funny that the negative comments are the ones that keep going round your head! It does make me more determined to succeed though.

Good for you!!

I think they just make you question yourself - i did a lot more with Connor which is why i am so glad i found the forum second time around as it gave me more confidence in my choices. I don't think i'd have BF till she weaned TBH if i'd have been 'on my own' if you know what i mean.

We are here for the good days and the not so good!! flower

I have had this same question asked when Andrew cries too...Usually by someone who has never breastfed scratch

I too get annoyed but my answer now is.....would you like a little taste and see if my milk can fill a mouth as big as yours.
