Its like having a set of great mates who are always on hand to help with problems give support or just have a good natter too. Being a stay at home mum can sometimes feel lonely & asking your hv for help all the time on feeding makes you feel your doing something wrong & it becomes easier to give up....not anymore everyone here is always ready to offer advice or lend an ear if you need a chat. Its my daily lifesaver.....

I can't recommend this website enough. The support from the other girls is wonderful and there is always someone to help - no matter how big or small the problem. Even if I just feel a bit fed up or lonely there is always someone to talk to and my days are alot better knowing I can come on breast buddies and speak to someone if I need to.
Can't thank you enough ladies, you're a wonderful bunch!!

I am pregnant with my 3rd child and only managed to breastfeed my last 2 for a few days - mainly down to a lack of knowledge and support.
I have joined this forum during pregnancy to get as much advice and support as possible so I can give breast feeding a proper go this time - and i've learnt so much already, and understand why I struggled so much previously.
Thankyou to you all - I know I will get through it this time with the support from all of you!

I am so glad I got told about this forum! I had absolutely nobody to talk about breastfeeding to at all! I seemed to be the only one breastfeeding at my local baby clinic and there are no support groups in my area!  All the girls here are so friendly and certainly know their stuff when it comes to breastfeeding! If I ever have a problem or question I know I don't have to worry as there will always be someone here to offer great advice! Thanks ladies!

If it wasnt for this forum and the support from the girls here i would have given up breastfeeding weeks ago, all the girls have helped me overcome numerous problems I've encountered along the way, the support has been great, keep up the work girls, and a huge thank you to each and everyone one of you!

Random people telling you what to do................

Has anyone else had this?

I was in next today and one of the women who worked there said "oh she's hungry isn't she" I said "erm no she has just been breast fed and had a bottle of expressed breast milk, she's tired" Then she went on to say "You should give her a bottle of water to calm her" I was getting annoyed at this point and said "I breast feed her, she doesn't need water" and walked off before i told her what i was thinking. AAAAAGGGGHHHH How annoying.

(sorry moaning again........lol. I don't always moan....ha ha)

sore boob
Mon Jul 21, 2008 11:18 pm by nac
hi all

12 weeks and still breastfeeding i feel very proud of my baby.

i have a sore boob, post her sleeping through the night for a few nights. it was a tough night last night lots of pain, its as if she knew as she woke and fed every 3 hours to help me keep the breast drained.

went to the dr, he gave me antibiotics in case it progresses to full blown mastitis! im feeding her regularly, draining the breast with a pump if she doesnt drain it and gravitational feeding - which she thinks is very funny.

feeling a bit sorry for myself but...

Why do people stick their nose in?
Thu Jul 24, 2008 12:15 am by Squiglet
Why do people see fit to stick their nose into things where its not welcome namely my breastfeeding lil miss...

Now lil miss is 6 months everyone expects me to wean her off the breast and I don't want to... iconsad I had to work very hard to get rid of the bottle feeds the hospital introduced, and no one ever congratulated me, I went back to work but kept lil miss on boob milk, and no one congratulated me, and now she's hit 6 months, every one looks down on me because I am still breastfeeding. GAH!!! Feels like I'm damed if I do and Im damed if I don't.

The I...

Thu Jul 17, 2008 4:19 pm by Helen
I didnt no where to post this because i need advice on loads of different areas so i've put it in general.

Ok, i got a call an hour ago to tell me my operation date for the cyst on my ovary to be removed and for the 'fentons procedure' as my bits havent healed properly (according to gynocologist) 7 month after having baby or i've been overstitched when had 2nd degree tearing (according to GP). Sex is extremly sore so need procedure done!

Anyway, the date is 29th august so we've got 5 week until the date to put bethany in some sort of routine. We've never had a '...

Feeding more through the night
Wed Jul 16, 2008 9:00 am by kay
Corey is feeding much more through the night than the day at the moment.
During the day, he has good, long feeds, well spaced out (i dont count, and i dont time lol!).
At night, he is just on and off all night - short, snacking sort of feeds. TBH, I dont know how many times, how often or anything - i dont look at the clock or even open my eyes really Razz

Its not affecting my sleep too much, and it isnt a problem, but does anyone elses LO do this? is it common?

got a reply from local councillor about breastfeeding law...
Tue Jul 15, 2008 12:52 am by Helen
I was reading about the breastfeeding picnic on

http://one-of-those-women.blogspot.com/2008/06/protect-my-baby-protect-me.html

and at the bottom of the page it says to contact MP to tell them about the need for a breastfeeding law to protect all mummies and babies
It gives you the following link:

http://www.writetothem.com/

Anyway you can put your postcode, write a message and send to all local councillors/MPs etc. So i sent a message to all 3 of my local councillors and the MP.

It was 2 week ago now and not 1 word from an...
