Breastfeeding tip : Recognising a growth spurt

* You feel as though you haven't got enough
* Baby getting upset at the breast (though can be a sign of other common problems)
* Baby is breastfeeding often or almost nonstop (feel like baby is always wanting to feed)
* A baby who was previously sleeping through the night is now waking to breast feed several times
* Baby will latch and unlatch, fussing in between

PostSubject: Breastfeeding and co-sleeping questions   Fri Jun 26, 2009 11:51 am

Hi all

I was wondering if you can help me with the following questions:

1. When i lay down to :boob: I need to put a cushion behind my back for support....is this common or are there more comfortable positions? (there is no space in bed for DH at the moment :haha: )

2. The LO kicks on my legs when laying down and the "pops" off the breast. I tried to make my legs straight, but find it very uncomfortable. Any suggestions that would help?

Thanks cheers

Lil miss does this. Usually you have to straighten your legs so they can't.... Using a cushion for your back is common.. I had to do it.

Other positions I use... I prop lil miss on a pillow next to me with my arm under her head so she is closer to my breast or I allow her to lie directly on top of me, tummy to tummy and she tilts her head to one side depending on which breast she is feeding from... that one I use a lot.

i dont no if its because my boobs are big and saggy Laughing but i can lie on my back and have my arm under bethany's neck and kind of cuddle her that way so we are both still lied down and it works fine. then when bethany finishes she just rolls away from me :aww:

Bethany officially weaned herself off the boob on 1st december 2009 so we breastfed for nearly 2 years Smile
